Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 16,574.79 points, shut shop at 16,773.55 points (provisional), 201.52 points or 1.22 percent up from its previous close at 16,572.03 points. At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty ended at 5,027.9 points, up 1.16 percent from its previous close at 4,970.2 points.
